Have a look at this absolutely stunning two tier exotic wood chess set .

Featuring tournament sized 2 1/4" squares and a playing surface made from American black walnut and American tiger maple. The 1/8" dividers between the squares are made from Peruvian walnut.

The base of the board is also made from Peruvian walnut and features decorative carved edge with a wave textured pattern and crown carvings of my design in all four corners of the base. The base ledge next to the playing surface is 2 1/4" for retired players.

The overall dimensions are 23 3/4 x 23 3/4 x 1 1/4".

I finished the board in semi-gloss polyurethane and clear coat lacquer sprayed the pieces in gloss to offer a contrast between board and pieces.

The chess pieces are machined, and hand carved from maple and walnut, triple weighted with felt bottoms. Each piece was meticulously handcrafted and finished. An extra queen per team is included in the set for proper chess play. The pieces in this set are beefy and weighty. The kings measure a full 4" tall with a 1 5/8" base.

Optional rubberized grip feet can be installed on the bottom of the board for improved stability on hard surface use.
