Offering up these beautiful, solid hardwood, handcrafted chess & checkers boards with a contrasting light and dark "borderless" edge and built from solid, handpicked pieces of Peruvian walnut and tiger stripe maple woods.
These boards are an upgraded version of my standard 18" boards with premium exotic woods, high contrasting tone coloration, little to no wood imperfections (knots, splits, etc), and fine finishing.
Four board sizes available:
14 inch featuring 1 3/4" squares
16 Inch featuring 2" squares.
18 Inch featuring 2 1/4" squares
20 Inch featuring 2 1/2" squares
Each and every one of these boards is made with precision and care, by myself. They are carefully, cut, squared, and glued, then subsequently go through six rounds of sanding (80, 100, 120, 150, 180, and 220 grit--a very smooth surface.) The corners and edges are hand squared and very lightly sanded smooth. They have all been carefully finished in two coats of satin polyurethane, and finally hand-rubbed with my conditioning wax to finish.
They come with optional silicone grip feet (5/8" tall x 5/8" diameter) fastened to the bottom, which I do recommend if the board will be used on hard surfaces.
This is a perfect gift for the checkers or chess enthusiast. I also sell this board as a set with the pieces included upon inquiry.
