A simply beautiful handmade two tier hardwood chess board:

Featuring competition sized 2 1/4" squares and a playing surface made from American black walnut and American tiger maple. and bordered in American walnut.

The base is made from American curly cherry and features decorative edge around the playing surface AND base. The base ledge next to the playing surface is 1.5" for retired players.

The overall dimensions are 23 1/4 x 23 1/4 x 1 1/4".

The board is finished in three coats of polyurethane on the top and bottom.

The playing surface is sanded to 600 grit and also finished in semi-gloss polyurethane.

Optional silicone grip feet attached to the bottom are available to purchase for better hard surface stability.

The pieces are fabricated from walnut and maple, triple weighted with felt bottoms, and hand finished to match the board.
